The new version of the Kubuntu KDE4 Linux distribution is almost ready. The new version of KDE is very attractive, the first installation was not a good experience because KDE suffers from slowliness. It can be corrected by installing the package scim
sudo apt-get install scimafter this correction the attraction of the new environment is much more evident. Progress are there and many new things are available:
- KDE 4
- Plasma – size and position of the panel is now configurable
- KHTML – repainting issues addressed and KHTML now supports more websites by accepting more non-HTML4-compliant documents
- Several stability issues have been fixed
- Session switching has been included
- KDE 3
- A favorite email folders view in KMail as well as drag-and-drop support for the folders
- Easier scheduling in KOrganizer
- KGeography and Kig fixes within the KDE Edu module
